Barbara Bahns joins Working Knowledge as a Marketing Coach
Working Knowledge is delighted to announce the appointment of Barbara Bahns as a marketing coach within the Marketing Academy beginning in April 2023.
Barbara will help develop the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours of marketing apprentices through regular 1:1 coaching as well as ensuring application of their learning is aligned with business goals.
Barbara brings more than 20 years of in-house, agency and marketing consulting experience to the role. Her vast experience in a wide range of marketing disciplines includes brand, product, sponsorship, strategy and partnership activities.
She started her career at a startup agency, creating websites and digital media campaigns for SME clients before moving on to international agencies servicing clients across multiple markets.
During her eight years at Visa, Barbara held multiple roles across consumer and business marketing. As Head of Marketing in Central and Eastern Europe, she developed marketing programmes bringing together partners from corporate banking, FinTechs, SMEs and large retailers to grow their businesses.
In her recent roles, Barbara has focused specifically on B2B marketing across sales enablement and marketing, helping tech giants like Visa and startups alike to speak with confidence about their business to stakeholders and customers. Today, Barbara’s roles focus on marketing strategy, development and implementation of cohesive plans, and success measurement.
Throughout Barbara’s career, she has built multiple teams from scratch, always keen to attract and nurture young talent into marketing through mentoring and coaching.
Jo Trendall, operations manager, Working Knowledge, says: “Barbara has years of fantastic experience in Marketing, working with giants such as Visa and Payfuture, as well as running a successful freelance consultancy.
“Additionally, Barbara has a wonderful energy and enthusiasm to share her knowledge and support the development of the next generation of Digital Marketers. I'm delighted to welcome Barbara to the team.”
Barbara will continue to work as a freelance consultant alongside her Academy role, an essential criteria for Academy coaches. This allows our apprentices to learn from practising marketing consultants with up-to-the-minute sector knowledge.
Says Barbara: “I am thrilled to start at Working Knowledge, coaching and nurturing Marketing apprentices to see them grow and succeed in their professional life.
“The Marketing Academy is truly amazing for businesses and apprentices alike. Helping the next generation by passing on my marketing experience is something I’m very passionate about. At the same time, I’m excited to get to know the business owners and help them to grow their businesses.”
“I believe every business deserves great marketing, and through the fantastic Marketing Academy, every participating business gets this chance.”
